Daniel Chan, Barrister and Solicitor
Daniel is a Senior Practitioner based in Perth, Western Australia. He 'respects and acknowledges that he works on the land of and is surrounded by a sense of belonging, both ancient and contemporary, of the world's oldest living culture' 1.
Daniel is admitted to practice as a Barrister and Solicitor in the Supreme Court of Western Australia, the Federal Court and the High Court of Australia. He is a Nationally Accredited Independent Children’s Lawyer representing children's interests in the Family Court and acting as a Separate Representative in Care and Protection proceedings in the Children’s Court.
Daniel is a member of the Law Society of Western Australia, The Criminal Lawyers Association of Western Australia, the Family Law Practitioners' Association of Western Australia, The Humanitarian Group, The Asian Australian Lawyers Association and is a member and was on the management committee of Murdoch University SCALES Community Legal Centre Inc from August 2014 to April 2018.

In 2009 Daniel was co-winner of the Murdoch University Amnesty International Human Rights Prize for his work on this multi-media salute to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (Flash Required).
Daniel is multi-lingual. He is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Chinese dialects including Cantonese and Hokkien. He also understands Bahasa Malaysia.

John Chew, Legal Clerk
John recently graduated with a Bachelor’s of Law (LLB) and Arts (Major: Security, Terrorism and Counter-Terrorism). He is currently pursuing a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice and aims to be admitted as a lawyer by the end of 2021.
John’s experience working with the Singapore Police Force has equipped him with interpersonal communication skills to interact with people of diverse backgrounds and a desire to serve the community.
John has an interest in Family Law and he participated in the WA Family Law Pathways Network Conference 2021. He hopes to further develop his interest and skills in this area of law.
In his free time, John enjoys playing basketball and soccer with his friends.
